HugTime is a small mobile app that helps you remember to give 20-second hugs to the people and pets you love. By using HugTime, you agree to these terms.
HugTime is not a clinical or medical product. We don't make therapeutic claims. The science we cite (about touch reducing cortisol, about 66-day habit formation per Lally et al. 2009) is honest research, but the app is a daily ritual, not a treatment. If you're going through something hard, please reach out to a friend, a family member, or a mental-health professional.
HugTime is anonymous and local-first. We don't ask you to sign up. We don't have your email (unless you write to support). See Privacy for what we collect.
HugTime has a free tier and a paid tier (HugTime Pro) when you want to add more than one person. Purchases are handled by Apple via the App Store. Refund requests go through Apple (apple.com/legal/itunes/us/sales.html).
Don't use HugTime to harm yourself or others. Don't reverse-engineer the app. Don't impersonate someone else when adding loved ones (the data only lives on your device, but be considerate of the people whose names you store).
HugTime is provided "as is." We make every effort to keep it warm, kind, and bug-free, but we can't promise it'll always work perfectly. We're not liable for damages arising from use of the app, to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these terms. We'll post material changes here and in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of California, USA. Disputes go to courts in San Francisco County, California.
